The following is a list of the skills most important to this game’s setting. Note: a few skills have changed such as Climbing/Swimming and Gambling.

Athletics (Strength): Combines Climbing and Swimming as well as cover jumping and other feats of athletic ability.
Boating (Agility): Includes all water craft including submarines.
Driving (Agility): Does not include motorcycles, ATVs, or flying part of VTOL craft.
Fighting (Agility): No change.
Hacking (Smarts): All TAP equipped characters started with d4.
Healing (Smarts): No Change. Can be used in place of Knowledge: Medicine with a -4 penalty.
Intimidation (Spirit): No change.
Investigation (Smarts): Used for locating unrestricted information files in the Deep. Quick restricted files searches will use lower of Hacking and Investigation.
Language (Smarts): d4 to speak, d6 to be fluent.
Knowledge (Battle): Used for mass combat and abstracted combat.
Knowledge Medicine (Smarts): Identify Drugs, medical forensics, and install cyberware and bioware.

Knowledge: Science (Smarts): Covers all scientific disciplines.
Knowledge: Technology (Smarts): Covers the use of advance technology, knowledge of different types of technology, and the invention of new technology.
Notice (Smarts): No Change.
Persuasion (Spirit): No Change.
Piloting (Agility): Used for the flight controls of VTOL craft.
Profession (Smarts): Replaces Gambling skill. Used to earn a honest living.
Psionics (Smarts): Cannot be increased with experience.
Repair (Smarts): No Change. Can be used in place of Knowledge: Technology with a -4 penalty.
Riding (Agility): Used for motorcycles, ATV, Hover bikes, etc. Use lower or Riding and Piloting for flying.
Shooting (Agility): No Change.
Stealth (Agility): Use lower or Stealth or Persuasion for disguise.
Streetwise (Smarts): Used to talk to people for information within the Deep as well.
Survival (Smarts): Also used to live on the streets without a home.
Thievery (Agility): Replaces Lockpicking and covers conventional lockpicking and pickpocketing.
Taunt (Smarts): No change.
Throwing (Agility): No Change.
Tracking (Smarts): Used for trailing someone. Use lower of Stealth or Tracking to secretly follow someone.
